Nature Diary of an Elizabethan Gentleman
Date: Saturday 15th May
Time: 16:00 -17:00
Location: Online Zoom event
Tickets: Free, booking essential (donations welcomed)
Join me as I describe my many failures, and occasional successes, at cataloguing the trees, plants, fungi, birds, insects, and anything else I could name. I want to inspire everyone to grab a hand lens, put on a warm coat and peer at little bits of green stuff on twigs and the mouldy looking bits of leaves.
Joining information will be sent to you when you book.
Event Information
Daniel Harwood, amateur naturalist and birdwatcher, hosts a light hearted discussion on his visual diary of nature trails around London.
“Starting the year as a passable birdwatcher, but knowing little or nothing about other forms of life, I decided that I would try and record all the species I could find on my nearest patch of greenery.” Daniel says the online event aims to describe his many failures and occasional successes at cataloguing the trees, plants, fungi, birds, insects and anything else he could name.
Daniel will talk about the people he met on the trail and the support of the many people who helped him. Ultimately, the aim of the discussion is to share something of the extraordinary trees, plants and animals he has met, as well as giving an insight into how they have enriched his life. Daniel says that the event hopes to “inspire everyone to grab a hand lens, put on a warm coat and peer at little bits of green stuff on twigs and the mouldy looking bits of leaves.”
